I pride myself on being an RMT with highly current knowledge and skillsets. I am passionate about creating a safe environment for my clients to feel fully at ease and ensure that they leave feeling nurtured and well cared for. My compassionate, kind and empathetic nature flow into the treatments I provide.

With a background as a Spa Practitioner, I can blend soul-nourishing relaxation techniques with therapeutic work. I use multiple modalities including joint mobility, fascial work, and pre- and post-natal and Swedish techniques.

I am particularly interested in intra-oral massage to treat jaw pain, teeth grinding and whiplash symptoms. I also have a passion for abdominal and diaphragm work as a powerful way to rebalance the nervous system as well as stimulate digestion for overall wellness.

I am someone that likes to have fun with whatever I’m doing. I don’t take myself too seriously and am a bit of a goofball. I am passionate about the arts. You can usually find me at the theatre, dance studio or open jams (stumbling my way through learning to play bass guitar) I am a lover of the outdoors, and am always up for any kind of adventure.

As an RMT I strive to provide comprehensive, client-centered care. Creating a welcoming and relaxing environment, I will meet you wherever you are at, and work with you towards your overall health goals. My aim is to find the most applicable tools, treatment modalities and home care to assist you in making progress toward better physical and mental well being.

I believe a collaborative approach centered around communication, giving the client control over their treatments, as they know their bodies best. I seek to empower my clients with in-depth knowledge to help them better understand and interpret the biofeedback of pain, tension and stress. Increasing our awareness of what our body is telling us strengthens our mind-body connection and allows us to develop healthier habits.

To support each client’s unique goals, I use a mixture of myofascial and trigger point release, deep tissue and relaxation techniques, in combination with active and passive range of motion. I will also provide manageable homecare tailored to the lifestyle and goals of each client, whether they are looking for preventative, relaxation, maintenance or recovery care.

Movement has always been a big part of my life. Surfing, skiing and dance are the ways in which I stay grounded, happy and energized. Before completing my diploma at the WCCMT in Victoria, I was a tree planter for nearly a decade. I have had my fair share of injuries over the years and know the trials of both repetitive strain and immobility. My rehab has always revolved around massage as it supported me on more than just the mechanical level, which is what inspired me to pursue this career myself.

I truly love the opportunity that massage has given me to play a role in my clients’ lives. I gain immense satisfaction in helping others and treat this line of work as a privilege. My natural love of problem-solving combined with a deep interest in the mind-body connection inspires me to find the best approach to everyone’s unique relationship with their body and how I can best support them.

My journey as a healer began with my own recovery: over a decade ago, I was in a vehicular accident that almost took my life and compromised my ability to walk for the better part of a year. The outpouring of concern and help from my community was humbling, and inspired me to live a life in which I could be that support for someone in need. I enrolled in massage school as soon as I could walk unassisted, and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in my US country of origin, focusing on clinically-based, deep tissue, rehabilitation therapy.

Upon moving to Canada in 2018, I began studying acupuncture and TCM as the next chapter in my healing story and as the manifestation of the deep interest in philosophies such as Taoism that I’d held since my early 20’s. My long background in manual therapy led me to embrace and regularly combine the many manual techniques of TCM in addition to acupuncture: cupping, gua sha, tui na, moxibustion, ear seeds, gaos, e-stim to name a few, as well as continuing to blend my Western massage background with TCM. Each patient is unique in need and preference; I’m happy to have such a large pool of resources to help each person in their own way, and strongly encourage both the emotional balancing and the consciously taking charge of one’s own life choices that TCM promotes for optimum health and happiness.

After finishing my acupuncture studies in Vancouver, I moved on to TCM herbal studies at Pacific Rim College here in Victoria. Herbs can support an acupuncture treatment, stand on their own to treat internal conditions, be used as topicals in other manual therapies, and can be incorporated into a person’s daily life in the best “herbal” therapy of all, a well-regulated diet. Since becoming registered in acupuncture and TCM, I’ve practiced in Sidney, the Comox Valley, and now here in Victoria at Atlas. In my over 10 years of clinical experience in multiple disciplines, my greatest skill as a practitioner is to listen, hear your needs, and combine my skills and experience in the best way to meet those needs.

When not TCM-ing, I’m a multi-instrumental musician who played professionally in Austin TX, a horticulturist whose love of herbs was ignited in the organic garden bed, an avid reader and practitioner of metaphysics, the proud husband of a Doctor of Environmental Science and Restoration (and prodigal classical flute player), and the patient “cat dad” of a precocious tortie named Polyana.

(E.) Quinn Jones, RMT. My experience with massage therapy started when I found myself bedridden with a sports related back injury. I tried resting and stretching and eventually consulted a doctor. The doctor prescribed pain medication and told me to continue resting until it got better. After several days without improvement I sought the help of a Registered Massage Therapist. At the end of the first treatment I was able to move without pain, and several treatments later I was back to normal. I knew then that this was something I had to pursue. I believe that by putting the body into a restful and relaxed state you enhance its natural ability to heal. My goal during treatment is to create an environment in which a person can feel the pressure of daily life melt away. This helps the body to repair and allows therapeutic techniques to be more effective. Some specific areas that I have experience working with clients are: *Chronic muscle pain *Sports injuries *Jaw/ TMJ dysfunction or pain *Anxiety and depression *Abdominal & pelvic conditions (PCOS/endometriosis/Crohn’s disease /colitis/post abdominal surgery) *Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome *Insomnia *Scar mobility *Frozen shoulder or rotator cuff injuries * People who enjoy massage as a part of their wellness routine

I feel so fortunate to have the chance to work with people and help them improve their health. Quinn is available at the clinic: Monday 1:30 – 7:30 pm, Tuesday 2:30 – 6:30pm, Wednesday 11am – 7pm, Saturday 9am – 2pm

From an early age I have been fascinated with the human body and the mysteries of the natural world. This influence fueled my life-long passion for martial arts and propelled me to study Biochemistry at McGill University where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree. However, it wasn’t until I began to practice Qi Gong and Tai Chi upon moving to Victoria, that I found my true calling and went on to complete the Doctor of TCM program at Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology.

It has been incredibly fulfilling working with clients as a Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner since 2017. I understand the deep impact an injury or illness can have on one’s life from personal experience, which is why I feel grateful to be of service in helping others find their way back to a state of health and wellness.

My clinical approach reflects my desire to integrate Western scientific knowledge with Eastern holistic understanding. In order to achieve the best possible results for my clients, I utilize a number of traditional and modern therapeutic techniques, including acupuncture and electro-acupuncture, tui na massage and myofascial release, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and TCM herbal remedies. With each individual case, I work to determine the root cause of injury or dysfunction and provide the appropriate therapies, knowledge, and lifestyle suggestions to resolve the issue and prevent any future occurrence.

My intention is to offer a safe and nurturing space where you can receive the respect, compassion, and care you require for healing to occur. I love to empower you through education and provide solutions and practices that will allow you to take health into their own hands. My ultimate mission is to support each individual’s healing process by meeting you where you are at and working together to achieve their healthcare goals while cultivating a thriving foundation of health and well-being.
